Reference List - Lipid and Polymer Nanoparticle Formulations with Target Tissues/Cell Types

Updated: Jul 10, 2023

Hello everyone,

We have been busy compiling a comprehensive list of as many publications related to non-viral Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) as we could. At the bottom of this page you will find an Excel file that you can download. It will provide you with a comprehensive list of many of the publications made in this field from 2020 - 2022. The list is broken up into two types of nanoparticles, Lipid and Polymer. The Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs) and the Polymer Nanoparticles (PNPs) are presented in the following categories:

  1. Article Title

  2. Published Date

  3. Lipids/Formulation

  4. Target (General)

  5. Target Cell

  6. Structural Chemistry

  7. Link to Article

Additionally, a high level overview of the major unit operations of the process related to nanoparticle manufacturing is provided directly below. At smaller/pre-clinical scales, the LNP formulation (i.e., formation of actual nanoparticles) is most commonly performed by microfluidics. Once cGMP clinical trials start, the microfluidics technology is replaced with solvent injection in order to function at larger scales. At smaller scales, Dialysis may be used in place of TFF.

Hopefully you find this useful as a reference for your research or general education.

Best,
